Capacity:

Comes in two main compartment sizes and two outside pocket configurations, all in all adding up to 50 plus liters

Capable of hauling a 40 lbs well balanced load, optimized for rugged terrain

Supports canisters 10.5" or longer. Optimized for: Bear Vault 500/475, Bearikade Weekender, Blazer, Expedition and larger. Does not work with BV 450 and smaller, nor the Bearikade Scout sized cans

Features:

Carry the canister full and access food easily during the day, without removing the can from the pack

Dual 7075 aluminum stays connected to padded hipbelt and top load lifters

Full wrap, floating hipbelt with direct load transfer from the canister. User replaceable

Secure accordion style roll top with one strap. Quick access without snaps, Velcro or side buckles. No Y-strap to untangle

One large wrap around front pocket of about 6 liter capacity

Dedicated ice axe/ trekking pole carry and CCF pad attachment

Dual water bottle holders with non-contortionist access, on hipbelt. User replaceable

Optional removable shoulder strap pockets

Replace the bear canister with our Cargo Sack, Ursack, packraft, climbing equipment, winter specific bulk, when on trips without bear pressure

Sizing:

Small/medium - 22.5" aluminum stays (lower edge hipbelt to load lifters) - 16.5" torso (mid-hipbelt to shoulder strap attachment point)

Medium/large - 25" aluminum stays (lower edge hipbelt to load lifters) - 19" torso (mid-hipbelt to shoulder strap attachment point)

Large/extra large - 27.5" aluminum stays (lower edge hipbelt to load lifters) - 21.5" torso (mid-hipbelt to shoulder strap attachment point)

 

The use of frames connected to load lifters allows for some overlap in sizing

Choose a smaller pack if desiring a tight, snug fit for off trail use, and more clearance for wide brimmed hats/bushwhacking 

Size up to get a more traditional fit dedicated for trail use, with more volume and increased comfort near load limit

Use this chart for sizing; or measure an existing pack and relate the numbers to the ones above

Hipbelt Size

Hipbelt should at least partially ride on the upper part of the hipbone. The body's circumference here is usually greater than the waist; if in doubt measure yourself
